Here is one of the best all round outdoor fixed blades you will find. Perfectly designed knife, feels awesome in hand, and a superb sheath. Not much more that a guy can ask for! The AUS-8 steel is not THE BEST steel out there, but it is more than adiquit. The cutting test that I will show you was done with a fresh razor edge, and at the end it was just shy of a razor edge, and still was in a spot or two. With a couple of minutes of honing it was back to it’s fullest and none the worse for wear. Notes: I have reprofiled that edge to 20 degrees although it will still be razor sharp without it, this just gives it a little bit of a sharper edge. During the test there was also a lot of cutting that I didn’t have time to show you, so AUS-8 steel is no slouch! I am giving this a 15/15 raiting
www.sog-knives.net The SOG Bowie founded the SOG company. This SOG Tech Bowie model S10B continues to define the SOG company with good materials, great looks, and workhorse practicality. The blade is .240 inches thick and made of black tini coated AUS 8 polished stainless steel. The handle is made of Kraton with interspaced white washers that SOG claims has never been done before. A hard Kydex sheath is included that should last a lifetime.
www.sog-knives.net The SOG Aegis model AE-04 is known as the Tanto tini. The tanto blade is made of AUS 8 stainless steel and is assisted opening. All you gotta do is push the thumbstuds and the Aegis will take over. The handle is totally black and made of zytel with checkered digigrip. Inside the handle is the Arc-Lock that holds and releases the blade. An integrated safety and reversible bayonette style pocket clip sit on the other end of the handle.
www.sog-knives.net The SOG Flash I, model TFSA-97, featured a black Ti-Nitride coating over its AUS 8 stainless steel partially serrated blade. The Flash I uses the SOG Assisted Technology which makes the blade come flying out of the knife when the user initiates the thub stuff. The blade is locked into position with a piston lock integrated into the handle. Pulling back on the piston lock releases the lock so that the blade may return to position in the textured Zytel handle. Other features of the SOG Flash I include a reversible pocket clip for easy carrying and a safety to prevent accidental opening.
www.sog-knives.net In our opinion, there are two things that give the SOG Topo Meridian its character. One is the unique, curved blade that is great for slicing, and the other is the wavy handle that is branded by carving out the SOG name. This particular SOG M46T has a blade coated in black tini. Imagine yourself cutting the shrink wrap off a pallet with this knife. With the curvature of the blade, the point won’t get hung up. All you get is nice smooth cutting action. The knife opens with the SOG Assisted technology so expect a nice pop when opened. A reversible pocket clip is included for easy carrying.
