Perfectly sized for either every day carry or even tactical use, the BM 2550 is a superb auto. I really can’t level many criticisms at the 2550. Yes sharp jimping on the top would be nice. But it’s perfectly sized and shaped 154CM blade, tight lockup, well-executed safety, strong clip, and outstanding fit and finish are tops. If you’re a police officer, it’s the ideal auto knife. And if you’re wondering what should be your first auto knife with the most capability (EDC or otherwise) this …
Sometimes you just want an auto. And maybe you want a STRONG, well-balanced tactical auto that will never let you down. Then maybe you’re ready to spring for a Benchmade AutoPresidio (Auto Axis) Model 5000. No it isn’t cheap at around 0 (at least for mine) but quality autos never are. But at any price you will be hard pressed to find a stronger better made tactical auto. With its 7000 series sculpted aluminum scales over skeletonized SS liners, you will have all the strength you could …

Some careful block sanding with some 400 to 600 grit auto sandpaper (to square the edges) might make the jimping have some “bite” again. But as it comes from the factory, the jimping kind of sucks on this version and SOG should fix that….
At this weight and blade size, few knives will compare favorably against the excellent SOG Flash II. It’s an ideal larger EDC blade that deploys wicked fast, locks tight, and carries well. The Flash series also shows other makers exactly how to make a pocket clip: removable, hardened stainless steel clip the buries the knife in the pocket. The FRN handle was wisely NOT lined with stainless steel and as such is super light, strong, and surprisingly comfortable. The full flat ground AUS8 blade …
The attractive Benchmade Model 730 Ares may attract users looking for a strong tactical folder at a reasonable weight. First youll notice the striking sculpted G10 handles that have been offered in different colorations including the super cool plum/black Elishewitz version shown. The 730 as such holds a lot of collectible enjoyment. And if you get past the overyly hyped and laughable Benchmade writeup (copy) on this knife, youll notice it is also a extremely serviceable knife as well. The …
