The camera cut out again, so expect a part 3 soon. I apologize for the minor inconvenience of clicking a link If anyone wants to send me a bigger SD card it would be appreciated, but I will be getting a bigger one soon for future reviews. Questions and comments are welcome, there are a few things not mentioned in this review. Part 3 should be out by the end of October, most of the important stuff is in 1 and 2 already.
Here’s a close up view of the new Benchmade 585 Mini-Barrage. This is a spring assisted opening knife. This is the first Axis Assist model to be made. There have been Auto-Axis, but never an assisted model. I like it, the assist is adequately strong. The overall quality and feel of the knife is very good. I would give it 4 3/4 stars out of 5. I really like the thick stainless steel liners in this knife, which are skeletonized nicely. I would like to have seen a more solid scale material, although the Valox seems tough, it still sounds a bit hollow when you tap on it with your fingernail. I would like to see a G10 or aluminum scale model in the future(or both!). How about a scale upgrade kit Benchmade! I bought this one from www.knifeworks.com Another good place is www.gpknives.com
my first knife review. if you have any suggestions on how to make a better video (lighting, angles, etc), please share! Special thanks to Phil Elmore of themartialist.com. His review of this knife started my collection of cutlery. I made this review a bit over a month ago, his site and forums are up and running now. The camera cut off in the middle, so watch part 2 afterwards! www.youtube.com Check out specs of this and other knives at sogknives.com Questions and comments are welcome, trolling is not.
