how solid is the lock up on that arc lock. any blade play?

It’s perfectly solid with absolutely no blade play. The arc-lock is as strong or stronger than the Benchmade Axis-lock (famous for its strength).
I don’t prefer handle side lock releases – they can be disengaged accidentally when using the knife in certain situations (though I haven’t done that, just speculating).

Plain edge cuts rope better.
It’s just that the plain edge part on the knife is farther from the pivot point of your hand, so the force exerced by the rope on your wrist seems almost double . It’s called a lever effect.
Serrations are …useless. ONCE AGAIN = MARKETING bullshit.

All the things you say in your comments (HRC scale, leverage factors, etc.) sound like quotes from me in other vids (like my steels vids).
The serrations on the Vision cut better also because the grind angle is much lower than the plain section – making it a better slicer.

I only watched two of your videos, this one and one where you say ATS-34 is superior to S30V , wich is wrong heh
(and I mixed things up there : ats-34= japanese version, 154CM = american version)

Oh, boy, a debate
In my use of both S30V and ATS-34, I find that ATS-34 holds an edge slightly longer and is much less likely to chip or roll-over.
ATS-34 is NOT the equal to 154CM. The have different composition and 154CM performs much differently than ATS-34.
My statements are not based on “forum guru knowledge”, but from my own experience with the blades, as well as a few books by knife makers.

Actually your wrong. ATS-34 is considered by many custom makers to be a slight upgrade from s30v, even thought it has been around longer i believe. It is very similar to 154cm in compostion, but can be heat treated to better results.
You don’t know everything, neither do I.

love my SOG trident… great knife… I recommended the sog trident to all my brothers here in the West palm beach chapter of Aryan Brotherhood.. Now after playing with mine they all have gotten one.. I trust it and put my life on the line wth it.. thanks, godbless
