hey there, good review, my trident is coming in soon. just wondering though, is the blade in the groove able to be moved up and down or is it completely stationary?
well, IMO, the arc cannot compete with axis, I have had them break, but it is really strong. I also think vg-10 is a great steel, for sharpness and ease of sharpening, but 154cm takes it for edge retention.
I was also not bashing the review, just the knife. I also know that we are not all rich, as I am not, but you own strider so that gets you somewhere.
I have my Sog flash2 camo Tini now and it’s looks really nice. Razor sharp on paper and rope. I’ve used it on wood to split it and cut some parts off and it worked great. I saw that the blade was a little scratched. I washed it off with water and dry it and now they are all away except for one tiny scratch. So if you need a knife for wood or really hardcore handeling it’s better to use the normal blade. I was thinking of the tiger stripe on the trident but i will have the same problem then.
i’ve had both and i prefer the trident alot more. it’s aus8 steel and it’s alot harder compared to the leek which i think is sandvik(spelling?) steel which is soft and doesn’t hold an edge as well. Although, i like the size and assited opening better on the leek.
hey man! i just purchased the same knife..i am loving it soo far.. my question is.. what tool did you use to tighten the bolt.. i too am having a little movement from left to right..
I have a lot of play in the blade with mine as well. Tightening the screw got rid of the play, but made it so the knife wouldn’t open fully on it’s own. The play in the blade is really unacceptable in a knife of this price in my opinion. It is however still a great knife.
the liners are there to strengthen the handel where the cut is, other than that there is no steel liners making this a great knife. I use everyday in my duty use and cannot say enough good stuff about this knife.
I have a magical fix. It’s called gun-oil. Lube oil. Thick lubricating oil. Put some on the pivot, it’ll work wonders. One great trick I’ve learned about folders is that at least once a month, you should oil the pivot. Not wd-40, thought, that’s no good.

i’ve never actually used the sog coated blades, but have used a lot of others. maybe sog has something figured out and it won’t scratch!

thanks!
as long as you’re holding the blade stable, it will stay stable in the groove. hope this helps!

i know you’re not bashing the review. i’m just saying that there aren’t many people that will go out and drop $350 on a single knife.

i would say trident cause it just feels better in the hand in my opinion and the steel is better than the leeks steel
By AlexCell33, August 14, 2008 @ 7:32 am
Ok first of all you dont even have the trident and the leek and second there is really no better steel its all preference.

i think it’s a torq (star) head, but not sure of the size. could possibly be an allen wrench though.

Does this knife have steel liners? If so, are they drilled out at all?
By coletrane811, March 24, 2009 @ 4:33 pm
no steel liners.
By wallmartkiller, March 24, 2009 @ 4:37 pm
Well, I found out on another video on this knife that it does have some liners right where the groove is(all I wanted to know really).
Ty for the quick reply though.

By brizzi321, May 16, 2009 @ 6:26 am

By worldeyeview, June 6, 2009 @ 10:25 pm
