Cool cutting demo, the wood must be a real PITA to clean up.

Blunt…great vid! I’ve got the Trident in both Tanto (with the black tini) and Clip and really like both of them. Both of mind have very slight side to side blade play. Other than that, great knives for a reasonable price! Way to test that Trident! Oh…and dude, you are running out of arm hair to shave…

This is another blade I’m thinking about buying, in one form or another(gonna kill a bill or two for myself on my birthday, haha), but this is impressive. I will say 8CR is left in the dust, especially to be “analogous to AUS8″. Very impressed with the lockup too.

Ironically, I live in GA. Haha. Can’t stand the heat.

I’m a lefty, but I don’t think the locks would be too hard to adapt to.

Anyway, like I said before, thanks for being practical. Haha.

You say your a lefty. So I just grabbed my Trident and tried it lefty for you.

You simply use your index finger instead of you thumb to unlock it. VERY easy. And, as I say in the table-top, the clip is reversible. Very ambidextrous.

Excellent. It’s one that’s in the running, then. :)

Your videos are the most interesting I have ever met. I must go to bed now. The rest should be kept for tomorrow’s entertainment. Thanks.

Yeah, that lock is great for when it’s bitter cold. My cousin went hiking in Maine last winter, and had a cheap-ass pocket knife in his pants. When he happened to look down, he saw his leg was covered in blood ’cause the blade opened up, cut his thigh, and it was so frigid cold he didn’t feel it. Very scary situation.

I don’t care what other people say about the safety, I like it. Again, awesome vid. You know what to discuss.

heu guys this knife or the endura 4?

  • By BLUNTRUTH4U, September 4, 2009 @ 3:06 pm

I like my Endura4 (ZDP Steel) better, but it’s also $30 more.

  • By gonfley, September 5, 2009 @ 12:03 am

ya the endura would be the vg-10 steel the foliage frn part serrated ,sorry i wasnt being clear enough.

  • By BLUNTRUTH4U, September 5, 2009 @ 1:50 am

I would say the VG-10 Endura4 is also a better knife and a better deal. I like VG-10, but it is slightly more likely to chip (and suffer tip breakage), so you have to be more careful with it.

I pretty much like all SOG folders but I just for EDC. If i was a soldier/police or just hiking in the bush I would go for something else, a more solid construction knife like Spyderco.

I always have a fixed-blade and a folder. I only used the Trident to bash through the ice because I didn’t want to damage the tip on my other blade (the Trident has a much stronger tip).

I’m so glad you made this video! I’ve been wondering just how strong SOG’s piston locks are but was afraid to try it on my AEGIS since my blade model is so thin. Great review and subscribing as well! Thanks!
