SOG Tac Auto knife: Automatic Choice
Weighing in a just 3.8 oz and featuring a fast, perfectly swept AUS8 blade, the SOG Tac Auto is an excellent tactial auto choice. It’s standout features include: reasonable 3.8 oz weight, PERFECT pocket clip, attractive finishing, quality AUS8 swept drop point blade, glow in the dark SOG logo (!), perfect jimping, solid and fast lockup, and thin size. It’s a lot of auto knife for around 0 and I highly recommend it. Downsides would be the slick albeit attractive and thin handle and the …

I just picked up one of these with the black coated blade and cant agree with you enuff on the quality of this knife. I dont know what happened with yours but my came nice and sharp out the box. I could shave hair with it but perhaps you just need yours sharper. No sweat. Great review.

I like sog, but for 160$ they should be using a better steel than aus8.

they should have made the button glow in the dark

By dunklesmoof, August 9, 2009 @ 1:30 am
what do you use knives in the military for?
By BarneyStinson14, August 9, 2009 @ 8:16 am
Well, essentially, for cutting stuff. Daily utility purposes. I’ve also heard about Spec Ops guys who’ve had to defend themselves with their knives and desperate situations…

i dont understand why automatic knives are illegal… my ti lite comes out faster then a damn automatic plus i dont have to waste my time hitting a button.

I just purchased one. In NC, it’s only legal for Military and Police to purchase and own one. This is a great knife for self-defense AND utility. This knife is NOT considered a weapon in NC because the blade is shorter than 4.5 inches. Hence, this knife is legal even when carried concealed.

I bought mine a year ago for 60 bucks and it came with a free crkt knife too. Pretty damn good deal.

where is this knife made?

Because a lot of people on the left think it’s their job to take care of the rest of us and keep us safe as if they were our parents and we’re helpless children. They want to prevent low lifes from stabbing people so they say “Hey, let’s bad all scary looking knives!” Without realizing that all they’re really doing is taking self-defense tools out of the hands of law abiding citizens who would never use them to stab someone to begin with. And of course the low lifes will still have them anyway.

As tools. And for stabbing bad guys in CQ combat . Which surprisingly happens more often than you might think. Especially in urban combat missions where you’re often walking, running and fighting in lots of neighborhoods. When you rush in a room by yourself sometimes a guy will try and tackle you and then it’s too close to use your guns effectively. Or you could be out of amma. So you either have to fight like cave men using your fists and objects lying around or your combat knife.

exactly… all the law makers do in most weapon related regulations is fuck over the people that should indeed have the weapon. if a person is not law obiding no law is going to stop them at obtaining weapons.

You’ve got to consider that even if you are a responsible individual, irresponsible children can get their hands on these things. Think of how tempting it must be for some young boy to show his friends daddy’s shiny switchblade, or worse, to test it out. I mean, it’s not that we want to tell you how to raise your kids, but when children misusing weapons causes harm to others, it becomes a public issue, not just a domestic one.

I’ve been using and “playing” with knives since I was a little kid. They’re not that dangerous. I highly doubt a young child will find an auto knife, think it will be fun to stab someone and then goes off and does it. Reality just doesn’t really play out like that. As immature as most kids are they aren’t THAT stupid. Besides, an auto knife is no more dangerous than any knife you can find readily available in a kitchen. I see absolutely no logic in banning knives and guns.
