actually it looks more like sam fishers knife from splinter cell chaos theory but this one has serrations

Nice knife. Coletrane, I have a Sog gov tac and i was using it just like the Sog Flash 2 and The Pink Glove youtube video.
I didn’t know that the knife is only for cutting not for splitting wood with the tip:S. I used the tip to split soft wood and now my tip broke off.
About .2inch is gone, i can’t find the tip anymore. Do you know how I can fix my gov tac? The knife was brand new and 91$ :S.
Maybe i have to buy a sharpen stone and make a new tip myself?

not sure. i’d contact sog and see what they say.

I have started a thread on bladeforums.
Look by Manufacturer’s Forums and then SOG.
My name is itseasyforyou and thread title is SOG Gov-Tac question and photos.

    Good knife, and good review.

Yea this is the knife used in Hitman

Would this knife be considered as a dagger? I’ve heard stories of police officers bending the definition a bit.

  • By coletrane811, June 14, 2008 @ 5:25 am

yes, this one is most likely illegal to carry because it’s double sided. check with the local police to be sure though.

Heh, a little weird holding my Pentagon and looking at this at the same time.
As i made quite clear, i have my Pg. now, but mine came with the new/old? sheath.
The only complaint i hold with it is that it is very slightly misaligned where the guard and the kraton meet.
    Superb knife.

So how would you rate the sharpness of the knife? Would I have to take it to get Proffesionally sharpened after the buy? I am planning to buy a new one, Yes even at 135.00 had bad experience with buying used stuff in the past, you got lucky but I have bad luck.

  • By coletrane811, January 18, 2009 @ 11:14 am

it was pretty sharp, but could be sharper. if you can sharpen a knife, you’ll be alright.

Old comment is old, but srsly, you read my mind. I’ve been looking for a knife like this for years now. I just wish they still made the CRKT Merlin II sheath, then I could play for realsies.

  • By desertcamelbak, June 24, 2009 @ 4:40 pm

what do you want for that??

  • By bakerredrum, October 30, 2009 @ 8:55 am

I bought this knife when I was around 19. I’m 30 now and still have it. I beat the hell out of this knife and its still good. Mine is the older seki-japan type.
