Microtech HALO V
This is my Microtech HALO V, given to me as a gift from another You Tube friend, apophysis7. If you are in to Microtech knives and want to see some really great videos please check out his channel. The Microtech HALO is a single action automatic opening – out the front – plunge lock that is 10.75 inches in OAL with a 4.5 inch blade with an ATS34 blade. Since the inception of the HALO II and HALO III (High Altitude Low Open) in 1996, they quickly became a well-known favorite in the knife world. The HALO is the first automatic single action, out-the-front (OTF), knife produced by Microtech back then. The HALO, when deployed, provides the absolute tightest lock up of any commercially made front opener available. When retracted, the knife can be easily concealed in its tactical carry sheath. The clip point blade of the HALO II and the Tanto blade of the HALO III, provide the preference of blade style with the reliability of the HALO series. It’s one handed, fast action open, has fired its way into the hands of thousands of military, law enforcement and government agents all over the world.

Kinda scary to put it with the blade pointed up in that sheath, haha! Those single actions don’t stop when they hit something like the D/A’s do, they keep right on going from what I understand.
Anyway, that is one nice ass mofo son! Excellent stuff.

Beautiful blade Blaze and what a great friend to give a gift like that. I was shopping these last night a found one with the Tanto satin blade that I want for $585, not bad.
I’m pretty sure that the first 100 were a special production run that had tritium inserts in the button( like my old halo III ) and that also have titanium charging handles.
That makes yours # 18 of the general run- nice!!! It’s just barely legal, lol.

When the Spyderco knives say USA Earth doesn’t that mean that the steel used to make the knife came from American soil. Am I wrong on this or was he joking? Either way….
By PMCMANIS, March 22, 2010 @ 10:44 am
Nice knife but I only buy blades made on Mars
By thecajunblaze, March 22, 2010 @ 12:29 pm
@TheAlexwest1 I have heard the same thing about Spyderco being made from US soil.

It certainly is pretty, and for a collector its a jewel. The attention to detail and quality is evident even in a video, I can imagine even more so in hand. I just don’t really see the argument for an auto knife in any real world application.
