Great job on the Japanese Whetstone and Stropping! The S.O.G Flash 1 will make an excellent addition to my EDC items after that demo thanks Mike 5/5!

Real informative video. What are the grit sizes of you water stones? Thanks for sharing good information.

Glad you like the knife
I’ve got a few in aus-8. It’s a very underrated steel. If it’s heat treated well, it holds a great edge and takes little effort to bring it back to scary sharp, as you found out.
It’s a fairly ‘carbon heavy’ blade, so even tho it’s ‘stain resistant’ you do have to be a little careful not to mistreat it, but i’ve been very happy with my aus-8 knives.

if you are talking about the smaller block which is called the Nagura stone? No you dont have to but it is preferable if you want a razor sharp edge.

i was told they were not Chris…and a proof of that is that i ordered this knife from the states and everytime i do Can customs always open up my package to check it out. unless the laws have changed lately i dont think there would be a problem.
By Foxer604, December 9, 2009 @ 10:09 am
The law in canada is ‘no spring assisted and no gravity or ‘flick’ (centrifugal) knives’.
In other words it can’t use a spring to ‘fling’ it open at the push of a button and the blade can’t be so loose that you can ‘flick’ it open all by itself (like a butterfly knife).
Most ‘assisted opening’ knives in canada use a ‘torsion’ system. It’s mechanical, but the energy is still coming from you even tho it seems to just ‘fly’ open.
That makes them legal. There are many such styles and makers.

ok just making sure you knew
didnt want you to get pulled over for a speeding ticket or something and then end up in jail over a little knife LOL
