this is a really pointless design. who cares how long the handle is when you have to actually use the knife?

this design serves a good purpose, its a large blade ina compact folding design…not everyoen can openly carrya fixed blade but may have a need for a much lager blade than most folders offer…

As a left handed person I can say that us lefties can and usually do get use to working a linner lock. It takes some work but is possible to learn how to do it smoothly. Have you resharpened this knife yet? And, how does the edge hold up?

if u carry a knife in scotland and the police catch you you get an automatic sentance of 4 years imprisonment

In that case, you might as well carry the biggest honkin` knife possible….the sentence is the same as for a butterknife :-)

I just got my LFK in the mail. It’s sweet. Rock solid lock-up on the blade, easy open without it being TOO easy. Flow-through construction for mud, blood, and crud. I give it a 9 out of 10, and I only hold back the 1 point because I don’t like how the end of the knife sticks out of my pocket with the clip.

I liked my LFK until I tried some really light batoning (I purposely did light batoning because it is a folding knife). But the lock failed very easily, I would expect a folding knife lock to fail when batoning it but this was way to easy to have fail. Plus the thumb studs broke off. Its a cool knife but it doesn’t do well with hard use.

    how much $?

  • By jboritzki, July 11, 2009 @ 9:11 pm

I wonder how strong that lever is. If you’re gripping the knife then it might help the liner lock hold the blade in the locked position, or at least prevent it crom closing on your fingers if the liner lock fails. Just a thought.

    About $70-90.

that’s a very lovely piece, ingenius design
I would love to see a fixed blade that looks exactly the same as that when opened

  • By splint333, October 31, 2009 @ 10:08 am

Would this work as a self defense knife?

  • By cutlerylover, October 31, 2009 @ 10:34 am

well its size is great for self defense, but I dont know if I woudl trust a linerlock in this case…so I woudl say probabnly not, you cna get the voyager Z2 from cold steel which has a strongewr lock…IF you wanted it for self defense…

  • By splint333, November 3, 2009 @ 6:00 pm

The Voyager is a nice knife.. unfortunately.. the legal carry limit in Texas is 5.5″ and the I believe the Voyager has a 6″ blade making it illigal, at least in Texas.

  • By cutlerylover, November 3, 2009 @ 6:01 pm

the vpoyager series comes in 6″, 5″, 4″, and 3″ blade lengths, the X2 is 6″ but thew Voyager Xl is 5″…hehe perfect for Texas Carry!
