Benchmade is a innovative and creative knife company that supports a wide range of knife designs. One of my favorites and one of the best EDC knives from Benchmade is the Dejavoo. The Dejavoo offers higher quality materials and features in an EDC format. I have carried the Dejavoo as my EDC coming up on a month and is one of the longest periods I have carried a single knife. I was extremely impressed with the overall fit and finish and dedication to detail on this production folder. I would say the Devajoo is within the top three of my favorite Benchmade knives. Check out the Dejavoo, you wont be disappointed.

Great knife, I first bought this so I can have a fixed blade. I originally wanted a plain edge because I already own a semi serrated edge knife: the Benchmade 550SHG www.youtube.com So I settled with this Overall, great well balanced knife, good weight, just under 7 oz and can really do a lot while keeping a good edge. I really love the design of the blade. Down fall is that it maybe small for some uses and the jimping in the thumb rail is a little high. Yes, I bought the D2 version because I wanted the higher grade steel. Don’t get me wrong I love 154CM also. For me, it was availability and pricing at the time. I still recommend both. I also found that the 154CM is slightly lighter, which isn’t a bad thing. Minor note: they also have the 141 version which is the tanto tip. I purchased this knife from www.ombexpress.com They have great customer service and pretty good prices More information: www.benchmade.com Of course, you can meet me at my store at Western Knives and Utility in Fairfield, CA www.rjbuckknives.com

If you’re needing the reach and the maybe the reach of a large bladed defensive knife, then the interesting BM LFK could fill the bill: fast deploying, razor sharp, good steel in a “new” design that merits consideration. The only real miss is the pivot-mounted carry clip but at a price point it’s good design and value. ADD to video: weight is 6.8 ounces, heavier than a regular tac folder but that this price of this huge blade. Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 8 out of 10

Here’s a close up view of the new Benchmade 585 Mini-Barrage. This is a spring assisted opening knife. This is the first Axis Assist model to be made. There have been Auto-Axis, but never an assisted model. I like it, the assist is adequately strong. The overall quality and feel of the knife is very good. I would give it 4 3/4 stars out of 5. I really like the thick stainless steel liners in this knife, which are skeletonized nicely. I would like to have seen a more solid scale material, although the Valox seems tough, it still sounds a bit hollow when you tap on it with your fingernail. I would like to see a G10 or aluminum scale model in the future(or both!). How about a scale upgrade kit Benchmade! I bought this one from www.knifeworks.com Another good place is www.gpknives.com

Benchmade knives combine distinctive artisan quality of a custom blade with laser precision to create spacing tolerances as low as .0005″, less than 1/16th the thickness of a human hair. The patented AXIS™ mechanism in the Mini-Griptillian locks the blade in place with incomparable smoothness and unsurpassed stability. Omega-style springs on both sides of the handle secure the locking bar to prevent accidental closing. The D2 Tool steel blade is hardened to 57-60 Rockwell holds a razor-like edge and is treated with a BK1® coating to prevent rust and corrosion. And for a solid grip in wet or dry conditions alike, the palm-contoured handle has a swelled base and molded texture for slip resistance. An ambidextrous thumb stud facilitates fast, one-handed opening. It also has a reversible steel carry clip. Blade length: 2.91″. Closed length: 3.87″. Weight: 2.91 ounces.
