Benchmade Pika II knife: Cute But No Dice
On paper the Benchmade Pika II knife should be a hit. Great price, adequate steel, good blade shape, decent handle, and a nice clip. But its notat least with Nutnfancy. Thats because the Pinkachu has some surprising misses even at its affordable price point. Take for instance the Pika IIs overly strong blade retention due to perhaps an overly strong back spring. That makes this Pokemon a slow deploying blade, by comparison, that requires good thumb tension and wrist technique to get it out …

hey man love you reviews but i think you mist it this time i have one and there is 100% NO blade play at all in any direction, no deployment issues No protrusion of the lock and mine was sharp

Excellent review !.. I have to agree with GoDJuNkeR on the original Pika comparison. All the issues seemed to be nonexistent with the original in 440C and N690 blade steel. Higher pocket clip for deeper carry, functional jimping on blade spine, easier deployment, better handle texture, and vitually NO play whatsoever. I EDC it and love it. There are still some out there.

I just got my pikachu knife and some of the problems nutnfancy mentioned are present on my knife there was a little blade play but no up and down and the jimping sucks! oh and the edge is pretty dull out of the box

i appreciate the review. as a first time edc i picked it up from shooter’s world, phoenix az. i have no experience with knives so your review was very helpful. my knife is sharp and it has no blade play but i agree with the un-sharpened groves for the thumb grip. thanks NF.

i bought this nife before I ever saw this vid unfortunately. I stuck it in my pocket and no bullcrap as I was getting out of my truck the clip actualy snaped at the bend.. I feel as though I waisted my cash. Ima try and return it lol.

I own this knife, well it’s in pieces and won’t be put back together. Upon opening the package it seems like a cool, sleek and cheap knife. I was wrong. The handle is made of crappy molded plastic. The clip is the worst I’ve ever encountered. It bent to the point of no return within a few times in and out of the pocket. It’s a useless clip. I then took the knife apart to examine the insides. Half of the locking mechanism is MADE OF PLASTIC and cheap toy like plastic at that.

When I went to put it back together one of the larger pieces of plastic broke under the locking mechanism’s load. It was ridiculous.
Please Nutfancy annotate the weak clip and plastic insides.

I had this knife for about a week, and the only problem i had was with the pocket clip, i think u got a bad one, the only reason i didnt just replace the pocket clip is because im inpatient, so i got the sog flash 2 its sooooo nice
