Part 1 of my review on the 913. I was rambling a good bit so I had to break it into two parts.

Watch the second part of his review. It shows what is wrong. I think if you send it in though, benchmade will fix it.

they will.
As long as you havent voided your warrenty by disassembling it.
By 1999AudiAvant, March 6, 2009 @ 10:20 pm
would you recommend the tanto version of this over the tanto griptilian?
By Severator, March 7, 2009 @ 10:21 pm
I would go with the tanto grip just for the axis lock
By 1999AudiAvant, March 7, 2009 @ 10:30 pm
Yeah I ordered the black tanto with tan handle :p

I’ve had the knife for about a year now (All black tanto, wish I got spear). It makes a little noise when you shake it as the others said.
Great knife though, make sure you always get D2 or S30V.

By imgonnapissuoff, April 24, 2009 @ 11:57 am
do you think this knife would cut off the finger of a radical islamic terrorist?
By oduct86, May 1, 2009 @ 2:24 pm
Great review! I just purchased this knife a couple days ago based on it. Unfortunately, it makes the same rattle noise when I shake it left to right in the open position. Also, there is a very small amount of blade play up and down between the liner lock and bottom of the blade. How can I solve this??
By oduct86, May 1, 2009 @ 2:38 pm
To be more specific, how do I fix the up and down blade play. I can see a small amount of space between the liner lock and the part of the blade that makes contact with it. Is it as simple as tightening the pivot screw? I am new to knives and have no clue really…

I’m sending you a pm

Mine makes that sound ony much much quieter. Not as bad
By HabitZero, July 29, 2009 @ 6:29 pm
My 480 makes a bit of a noise when you shake it. There are ball bearings inside of the pivot that make that sound. I don’t know if the Stryker has the same, but seems plausible.

Hey habit, I really should of titled this video as 1 of 2. I have another vid showing that there are small pins that were causing the rattle. But you have a shoki! How is it? Any blade play?
By ycheese123, August 13, 2009 @ 1:01 pm
if you tighten the pivot screw does it go away cause mine is starting to piss me off
By Severator, August 13, 2009 @ 11:19 pm
Hi cheese, nope the pivot doesn’t help
For me it was pins inside the knife that were rattling. You can open it and jam them up and it should stop tho.
By scottcho, September 1, 2009 @ 12:04 am
Not sure if you still have the rattling problem, but I’ve had the same thing happen among many benchmades. It turns out in mine, it was the stop pin. That pin is slightly loose causing the rattle. I used a drop of loctite super glue. Fixed the problem forever.

I have the same prob, but im not sure if they have thread lock on the assembly screws, i dotn wanna void my warranty.
i’ve confirmed that it is indeed my anchor/stop pin that is rattling. it’s annoying.

These knives are the best period.
I just bought the mini nitrous 907SBKD2
then I picked up a 913D2 for cheap.
Dont mess with automatics. You can find them but they are big time illegal in all 50 states unless you are law enforcement or military
Plus the assisted blades open just as fast and get the job done
By schoonernooner, March 3, 2010 @ 11:14 am
Hey Bro – the noise you here is the cylinder on the spring bar – it has to be a little loose to rotate…confirm this by noting the rattling goes away when you close the blade and have pressure on the cyliner…
Regardless – the blemish issue..and too a degree the tolerance on the cylinder can all be taken care of if you send it in to benchmade…they stand by their products and will most likely just replace it
By Severator, March 3, 2010 @ 11:05 pm
@schoonernooner – hey thanks for the pointers and advice
By PikkupAndropov, March 5, 2010 @ 7:22 pm
i think that the liners are blemished because its not really necessary to polish titanium because it won’t corrode anyway
