Thats a situation when your new torx set comes in handy.

agree, but I’m extremely happy that I didn’t have to use it.

You probably should have taken it apart, because sand will stretch our the axle. Benchmade makes their knives with about 3,000th of a millimeter space on either side of the tang between each handle. Anything that gets in there and scratches it is going to stretch it out and loosen the lock so that it will give you play when it is locked open. Compressed air might have been fine, as long as you didn’t grind the sand in there too much, but for higher-end knives, I would recommend taking it apart.

Yeah, that is the proper way to do it, but given my skill and time spent on taking another knife apart it wasn’t worth it to me. Its still working okay at this point.

When are they going to release this knife? All sites claim “avalible soon” or “pre order”. I hate waiting!!!

I can’t even take mine apart. I think they put lock tight on the threads. My torque screws are getting chewed up.

Sand is bad for everything. Especially folding knives

Sand is even worse for camera gear

This is the assisted-axis version though. I don’t like my knives crunchy sounding.
