Benchmade 3300 Infidel: Overpriced Coolness
Why are out the front (OTF) autos so expensive? Nutnfancy says their inner workings though more complex simply don’t justify the price of most models…there’s just no way. i did put grip tape on the thumb shelf. and its works great! i love it. but the knife is really a piece of crap. my brother works for the co. that makes benchmades handles, so i was able to purchase mine for $250. but i wouldnt buy it again.

I’ve got a Benchmade 3550 folding auto, and have tried on many occasions to beat it to death…it simply keeps asking for more to cut.
Expensive? You bet, but you get what you pay for, just like Dad said.

3550 is a great knife, it’s also an OTS auto. and costs about $120.

I just bought a BRAND NEW Microtech Ultratech for $165 from a Dealer. notyourmommasknives has them for sub $180 online.
Microtech just dropped all their prices BIGTIME !!

OTF’s are high stress weapons, and allow double edged blades in a compact design, something that’s generally impossible with folding designs. You also require less fine motor skills and dexterity as your fingers don’t have to placed in a way to get away from the blade that’s folding out. Though is it worth 400? No way to me, If I need a high stress design, double edged fixed blade dagger is fine enough for my predicted military use. But for LEO’s maybe, If you got the green.

fancy expensive pig sticker :/ I’d stick with getting a good old fashioned benchmade 960, if you’re gonna spend a decent chunk of money on a knife.

Open it up and you’ll be super pissed about what you spent on this knife. BM really messed up with this knife by building it with low quality, weak parts. Just do some research on it, you’ll see. Once you open it up it’s a disgrace.
